Assets on-chain, legally enforceable, accessible 24/7.
A tokenised share exists in a wallet. Investre’s wallet infrastructure identifies a MiFID-compliant securities account, and we hold the keys as an authorised safekeeper. The blockchain is the single record of every position, shared and accessible to everyone entitled to see it, with a second record kept as a back-up.
One shared record, with a back-up.
The blockchain is the single record of every position. Our own books keep a second copy as a back-up, and support the off-chain work a fund still needs.
Each client’s holdings sit in blockchain wallets. We hold the keys inside certified hardware, from which they cannot be extracted.
The same positions are copied to the Investre Custody Ledger, which serves as a back-up and supports cash settlement, accounting and reporting.
We also act as control agent or transfer agent for issuance. Safekeeping is run independently of it, with its own controls.
Wallet balances, contract states and tokens in issue are checked against the custody ledger continuously rather than periodically.
One record, shared and backed up.
Custody of a tokenised share is key control. We hold the keys under a mandate, and the position lives on one shared record.
Every position sits on one on-chain record that the investor, the asset manager, the depositary and the auditor all read from.
Cash settlement, fund accounting, pre-settlement checks and reporting all require an off-chain position. The custody ledger provides one.
Investors see their holdings at any hour, on the blockchain record itself and in their own investor interfaces.
If keys are lost, the custody ledger holds a full second record of every position, so holdings can be restored.
The asset manager keeps the fund. We carry the custody.
Depending on the mandate, we carry custody, reconciliation, monitoring and reporting of the tokenised units. Fund governance, portfolio management and the investor-facing relationship remain with the asset manager.
Safekeeping is the mandate underneath the wallet.
Every investor service runs against the same on-chain register, operated by the same regulated firm. So adding one does not mean connecting another system.
Answered in advance.
Who carries the AML / KYC responsibility?+
Investre can take on AML / KYC responsibility itself where it provides the digital wallet, as custodian, or acts as transfer agent. In all other cases, Investre carries out AML / KYC under a contractual mandate from the fund.
Who holds the private keys?+
We do, inside certified hardware. Keys are generated there and cannot be exported.
What happens if Investre fails?+
The assets are segregated and are not part of our balance sheet. The register and issuance account identify every holder, and the independent blockchain network continues to guarantee the integrity of that single record. There is a documented path to transfer safekeeping to another firm.
Can an investor hold their own wallet?+
Where the structure permits it, yes. It moves key risk to the investor, and we set that out before you choose it.
Is the position insured?+
We carry professional indemnity cover as a regulated firm. Cover is not a substitute for the controls, and the controls are the more useful conversation.
Bring the custody scenario that concerns you.
These conversations usually turn on one question the buyer has already asked internally.
