Luxembourg / Frankfurt, 9 September 2026. Investre S.A., the Luxembourg fintech authorised by the CSSF as a Control Agent under Luxembourg's Blockchain IV Law, and 21X AG, operator of the first exchange licensed as a DLT Trading and Settlement System under the EU's DLT Pilot Regime, have announced a partnership to bring natively tokenised investment funds to a regulated secondary market.
Through the collaboration, funds issued natively on distributed ledger technology through Investre's infrastructure will be able to be listed and traded on 21X's exchange, with on-chain matching and atomic settlement.
For actively managed UCITS, this opens something the industry has long asked for: an ETF-like experience outside of the burdensome traditional ETF set-up. Fund managers can offer investors intraday tradability of their fund units on a regulated venue, without launching a separate ETF wrapper, appointing authorised participants, or maintaining a parallel product structure. The fund stays a fund. It simply becomes tradable.
The collaboration connects two regulated pillars of Europe's digital fund infrastructure: issuance and servicing in Luxembourg by Investre, listing and trading in Frankfurt by 21X, both natively on DLT from end to end.
Georges Bock, CEO and Co-founder of Investre, said: "Tokenisation delivers its full value when natively issued funds can also be easily traded. Together with 21X, we are closing that loop. An actively managed UCITS can now be easily accessible like an ETF in the hands of an investor, without the manager having to build an ETF. That dramatically changes the economics of fund distribution."
Ralf Wandmacher, CFO of 21X, added: “Natively tokenized instruments that bear the rights to the full economic value of the underlying assets will win over alternative tokenization models. Our partnership with Investre as a licensed Control Agent under Luxembourg's Blockchain Law, provides fund issuers with the possibility to list their native fund tokens on Europe’s first regulated on-chain market infrastructure. The combination of an on-chain funds registry and smart contract-based trading on 21X is transforming capital markets through efficiency gains and novel use cases for agentic finance.”
